Della Mae on PATREON

Greetings Della Mae Fans Far and Wide,

We hope you are hunkering down and staying healthy in this disorienting time.

As you all know we are in the middle of something huge. A world-changing event that will affect our society for the coming months and years.

As a team, we are trying to figure out how to best support each other. Della Mae has had cancellations through April into May (so far). It is very important that the women who have been performing with us can pay their rent, healthcare expenses, and put food on the table, but without income from shows, this becomes very difficult.

We truly appreciate all the kind messages we've received in the last week as to how you can help alleviate the financial burden this has caused. After a couple days of thinking, we have come up with a list and a plan! Here are six ways you can help artists and gig economy workers of all kinds during this difficult time:

  1. Support us on PATREON! We have started a monthly subscription service through Patreon called The First Song Dancers. Becoming a monthly contributor will allow you a glimpse into our weird world :) There are a lot of fun tiers and activities available, so check it out

  2. Donate to the Artist directly. It has never been easier to send money quickly and safely via the inter webs. Venmo, CashApp or Paypal are all wonderful ways to donate to an artist you love. It could be as simple as “buy yourself a bottle of wine!” or “grocery money.” A little bit goes a long way right now.

  3. Donate to the Recording Academy's Covid-19 Relief Fund. This is a way for artists devastated by the lack of work to get financial assistance while they wait for shows to resume.

  4. Donate your unused ticket money to an artist or gig economy worker in need. If you are canceling tickets, please ask if you can split the money between venue staff and the band.

  5. Buy Merchandise! Most artists have a ton of merchandise online. Now is the time to get yourself something new to wear around the house. Our album Headlight just dropped in January, and now has never been a better time to support it. We've got socks, pins, hats, shirts, bandannas etc etc. Our merchandise store is HERE.

  6. Take an online lesson from an artist you love. From beginner to advanced there are many musicians out there who would love to help refine your playing or just get you started. As for Della Mae, Kimber is teaching fiddle and mandolin, Celia is teaching songwriting, voice and beginner guitar, Maddie Witler is teaching mandolin, Avril Smith is teaching advanced guitar and Vickie Vaughn is teaching bass and voice. Most of us have a lot more time on our hands, so get pickin

One more thing; there are many incredible musicians who were going to support us at our album release shows this spring Please listen to their music and support them as best you can. Even an encouraging message in this time goes a long way!

Check out Rachel BaimanDori FreemanMaya DeVitryCaitlyn CantyLinsday Lou and Mark Erelli.

Thank you for your love and support as always. Be kind to one another, lend a helping hand and please consider taking one or more of the actions listed above. We aren't going anywhere and you can bet that when it is safe to do so, we will perform like never before!!

Lots of love,

The Della Mae Team
