Women's March 2019

Dear Friends,

Della Mae has always trumpeted the rights of women and children, but now it's time for us to do more. We invite you to join us at a women's march in a city near you on January 19th.

With the upcoming marches in mind, we wanted to visually return to the core idea of “Boston Town”. This song is an homage to the Lowell Mill Girls who in 1845 boldly formed the first union of working women and went on strike to demand better pay and working conditions. This, long before women had the right to vote. We gathered photos and videos from the band, our team and friends participating in women's marches, pride parades, gun violence protests and demonstrations to encourage voter turnout. These images come from places far and wide: Austin, Boston, Kansas City, London, Los Angeles, Nashville, New York, Oakland, Ottawa, Raleigh, Toronto, and Washington DC. <<watch video>>

We should not have to say this in 2019, but it is imperative that we listen to and believe women and girls, especially women and girls of color, our gender nonconforming siblings and members of the LGBTQ community. This is not a political statement; it is a human one.

We stand unabashedly with the rainbow of women and allied men of this movement and we hope you are one of them. We encourage you, whatever your position and affiliation, to walk a mile in someone else’s shoes at a peaceful protest near you. We can start a fire and they'll never put it out. See you on January 19th.
